A Little About Me
I was born in Dallas,Texas but moved here to the Valley when I was just 10 years old. I graduated from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale and then graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in History. I worked on a post-graduate degree for two years when I was hit by a stunning revelation. I had no desire whatsoever to teach kids who did not share my passion for history. Furthermore, the "publish or perish" obligations of professorship held very little allure.
I had travelled to Europe on multiple occasions and I even lived there for a few months in a foreign exchange program. During my time and travels in Europe I was constantly admiring those "Old World" finishes adorning the buildings there. The faded plaster on the walls of a basement tavern, the timeworn whitewash in a pizzeria, or even the simple garden walls in a private garden always caught my attention. Even when I toured the various castles and palaces, I was struck by the fact that so often the builders chose to forego expensive marble and stone, but rather chose to hire artisans to paint faux imitations.
A career in faux painting this serves two purposes for me. First, it gives me a creative outlet that always keeps my mind engaged. Second, it is a career that allows me to express my appreciation for the European cultures of the past.
When you call me to provide a a faux finish for your home you can feel confidant in the enthusiasm and eagerness I will bring to any projects as, together, we create an exciting new look for your home. After all, a person's home is their castle.
